The team behind the scenes

Interior builders

First and foremost, we focus on reusing your existing pieces, ensuring sustainability at the core of our approach.

If needed, our team can craft custom-made furniture tailored to your preferences. Our skilled interior builders specialize in designing bespoke solutions that incorporate recyclable materials, striking a balance between aesthetic appeal and environmental responsibility. Central to our design philosophy are ample storage solutions, elongated visual lines and the use of natural materials. All aimed at creating harmonious and functional spaces.

Constructional engineers

To enhance the sense of space and make the most of your available square meters, modifying walls, making openings, and change ceilings can be beneficial.

Our construction engineers will evaluate whether new structural elements, such as support beams , are required to maintain the stability of your home.

We can also prepare the necessary documentation for the homeowners’ association (VVE) or local authorities to obtain a building permit if required.

This ensures that your home remains structurally secure and adaptable for the future.

Contractors

Where can you find a reliable contractor? This is often a key concern. In the Amsterdam, Eindhoven, and Florence (Italy) areas, Small Footprint Design collaborates with a trusted contractor, ensuring you receive great value for your investment and confidence in the work being done.

If you’re  a contractor yourself or have found one, Small Footprint Design provides a comprehensive to-do list that covers everything from rough construction to the finishing touches. This includes structural work, precise layout measurements, as well as details for electrical and plumbing work.

Installers

First, we focus on the building envelope of the home to minimize energy consumption. This involves assessing the glazing, potential overhangs, floors, walls, ceilings, and gaps. For smaller homes, the energy system is crucial, as it is often linked to other households. Factors such as cost, required space, sound levels, and weight must also be taken into account. Additionally, ventilation is a key component of the overall system.

The market offers a wide range of products for heat pumps  (geothermal energy, air-to-air, or air-to-water, hybrid) and solar panels, PVT panels, home batteries. Together with our installer, we will guide you in selecting the most efficient system for your needs.

Declutter coach

If you’re downsizing, relocating, or have been in the same living space for a long time, decluttering can be very beneficial. It’s essential to sort through what to keep, what to donate, and what can be recycled.

This task can be quite overwhelming and is often postponed. With our decluttering coach, you’ll have a supportive team member to help you make decisions, reduce stress, and save time.

(Re)upholstery

To truly elevate the upcycling of your home, we collaborate with two companies specializing in upholstery for your sofas and chairs. They offer a variety of fabrics, carpets, and upholstery options that focus on natural materials while avoiding toxic substances.
